Founders Ball brings together the who’s who of entrepreneurs in the region for a few hours of pure celebration and fun. Founders Ball includes all you could want in a great party: incredible people in the room, cocktails, music, and unpredictable touches in a highly anticipated event once a year.
We also take this opportunity to thank and celebrate those who have supported The Harbor and announce the winner of our Entrepreneur of the Year award. The tone is “Entrepreneur Formal” which makes for a very entertaining lineup of ensembles. Founders Ball is the annual must-attend event celebrating entrepreneurship!

Entrepreneur Studio happens once during each accelerator program and features a rock star entrepreneur in an “inside the actors studio” style interview elaborating on their journey as an entrepreneur.
We know that successful entrepreneurs don’t often ride in on a white horse and get presented the keys to building/sustaining a multi-million dollar business on a silver platter – Dispelling those myths and digging down to the real story are where our Studios come in. Past Studios have featured Grier Allen (CEO of Boomtown!), Mason Holland (Co-Founder of Benefitfocus and Chairman of Eclipse Aerospace), Steve Swanson (Founder of Automated Trading Desk who sold the company to Citigroup for 680 million), Anita Zucker (CEO of the Intertech Group and South Carolina's sole billionaire), Steve Case (Founder of AOL), and Rebecca Ufkes (Owner and President of UEC Electronics).
Get to know some of the region’s most influential entrepreneurs on a distinct, exclusive level!
1 Million Cups
We've partnered with 1 Million Cups (1MC) , an initiative by the Kauffman Organization based in Kansas City that created a simple way to engage entrepreneurs in communities around the world. Their weekly "caffeinated" events offer local entrepreneurs valuable exposure and feedback on their startups in a supportive environment.
How does it work?
Each week, a local entrepreneur presents their startup to a diverse audience of mentors, advisors, investors, entrepreneurs, the public--you name it. Presenters prepare a six-minute educational presentation and engage in twenty minutes of feedback and questioning after they present. Entrepreneurs gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses, gather real-time feedback, connect with a community that cares about their progress, and walk away feeling like they have advanced their business. Coffee is provided each week and events are free to attend and open to the public.
1MC coffee events happen every Wednesday from 9 AM - 10 AM at Frothy Beard Brewing Company (1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407). To stay updated on the presenter each week, make sure to join our mailing list.
