Steve Case is Coming to Charleston
By: The Harbor Entrepreneur Center
As an entrepreneur, you understand that one idea can change the world. That inspiration can be found everywhere. That one conversation has the power to fuel significant growth. It can be easy to get so focused on your idea or business that you forget to actually GET OUT THERE and connect with the people around you.
We at The Harbor believe that Charleston is an incredibly powerful place to start a business, and we are so honored to be apart of your journey. To show our appreciation, we’ve rounded up some pretty incredible networking opportunities for you to collide with fellow entrepreneurs this month.
Steve Case is Coming to Town: Three Opportunities to Connect
As you might have heard, Steve Case, Founder of AOL, is road tripping it down to Charleston as part of his “Rise of the Rest” tour. His mission? To celebrate entrepreneurs around America and help create a more evenly dispersed innovation economy for our country (outside of Silicon Valley).
Here’s the kicker -- Steve isn’t just coming to to celebrate entrepreneurs, he’s coming to invest in them. On Wednesday, May 6, Steve’s hosting a pitch competition on the USS Yorktown from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. If you’re ready to bring your company to the next level, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not quite there yet? That’s okay! Tickets are free, so reserve your spot to support your fellow Charlestonians at the event.
Before the pitch competition begins, The Harbor will be hosting Steve Case and Governor, Nikki Haley, for an Entrepreneur Studio session on the USS Yorktown from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Come listen to Steve talk about the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs, and how this is the best moment in recent history to start and scale a business in Charleston. Reserve your spot for the opportunity to celebrate the stories of people and companies that are changing the world.
Wrap up the day with a few drinks at the “Rise of the Rest” Happy Hour Party with Steve and his crew. This networking party is for entrepreneurs, investors and other members of the Charleston entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Founders Ball: Night of the Year for Charleston Entrepreneurs
After you connect with Charleston entrepreneurs at the pitch competition, meet up with your new friends at this can’t-miss night of the year for entrepreneurs. The 2nd annual Founders Ball is going down May 9th at 8:30 PM at the High Wire Distillery. We rented out the courtyard, so meet us under the stars for a night of music, drinks, pure celebration and fun! Read more about the event and purchase your tickets here!
We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Please help us spread the word.
