CHARLESTON, SC - Dec 22, 2015. On January 25th, The Harbor Entrepreneur Center will launch their fifth cohort of startup companies selected to participate in the Harbor Accelerator, a 14-week business crash course designed to provide innovation startups with the resources and support they need to grow quickly, test the market, and become viable. Applications for the Cohort 5 accelerator program will remain open until January 10th.
Those accepted into the program are provided mentorship by esteemed entrepreneurs, free workspace, weekly curriculum sessions led by the program director, connections to local talent, expertise and investors, multiple events, and other tremendous resources throughout the duration of 14 weeks. Each accelerator program culminates with a high-impact pitch event that draws between 300-400 people. This is the startups' opportunity to compete for seed money and showcase what they've been working on for the past 14-weeks in front of a diverse audience of community/business leaders, investors, advisors, etc. Those who are accepted into the Cohort 5 Accelerator Program are automatically locked in to pitch at DIG SOUTH 's Venture & Demo Day on April 26th.
More than 30 startups have graduated from the Business Accelerator program since launching The Harbor in January of 2014. Companies founded by accelerator grads have raised more than $2 million in investments and have an estimated total gross revenue nearing $2 million.
The Harbor Accelerator works specifically with businesses in early stages that meet three criteria: an innovative concept, high potential to scale, and founders with the ability to execute. If you, or anyone you know, is working on something new to the scene that meets these three criteria, The Harbor would love to hear from you.
