Annually, innovators and job creators around the world celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week for one week in November. In the spirit of GEW, we have collaborated with DIG SOUTH, College of Charleston ICAT, and Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce to bring inspiration and opportunity to self-starters in Charleston.
Meet what we call the Perfect Pitch.
On Wednesday, November 18 we’re hosting the Perfect Pitch event that allows Charleston local entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas at the hope of winning a $10,000 prize.
Back in August, we accepted eight early stage start-ups to our Cohort 4 accelerator program. The teams of entrepreneurs spent 14 weeks from August 17 until November 18 meeting with professionals from our mentor network and developing and testing their product or idea. They’ve put in the work … and they’re ready to showcase it for the public!
Check out the participants below:
Scrubzone, an automated hand hygiene machine that sterilizes hands through the combination of antibacterial soap, water, ultraviolet light and a bristle brush.
HomeTrackr Home History Reports that provides homebuyers, sellers and real estate professionals with easy access to critical information about the history of a home.
HarborGood, a marketplace where users can support a cause by donating or buying goods, services and rentals through the platform.
Ravi Health, a system of data recording for sports organizations to track athletes’ injuries and treatment.
Porzio’s, a local company that crafts fresh pizza sauce.
SpeedyAdd, a platform that helps reduce missed appointments and increase monthly revenue for service-based businesses.
Pueri Elemental, a design company that manufactures custom “bop bags.”
Hydrow, a company that designs products to protect rowing equipment.
Each group initially gets one minute to pitch their idea. A board of judges will choose only 3 startups to move to the next round where they’ll be able to pitch their idea in 4 minutes. A final winner will be selected from there … and will receive the grand prize of a $10,000 investment!
The event will culminate in a high impact celebration upstairs at the beautiful and historic Sottile Theater at the College of Charleston, located at 44 George Street in Charleston. You must register ahead of time, so get your FREE tickets now!
